In this article I want to highlight three Selina hostels in Costa Rica; Selina La Fortuna, Selina Monteverde & Selina Jaco. If you’re not traveling in these areas on your adventure, no worries, as all of the Selina’s have common themes, practices and experiences. Not to be confused though, each location is different in their own unique way.
Selina Hostel La Fortuna
Selina Hostel in La Fortuna Costa Rica is all around a great place to be. The location is absolutely fantastic, the pool is huge, the parties are fun, the vibe is great and best of all, they have teepee tents! Book using my AirBnb coupon for a cheap stay HERE. Or, if you prefer using hotels.com, book HERE.
What makes this hostel more inviting than others, is the ability to openly collaborate and work together in their shared co-work space. No distractions – just natural beauty. La Fortuna CoWork is at the heart of town in a quiet place surrounded by greenery. Stay focused in comfort while enjoying tons of natural light, a great community, and lots of workshops and networking opportunities.
Selina La Fortuna is at the heart of this agricultural town, surrounded by restaurants, hotels, cultural hotspots, and sweeping views of the Arenal Volcano. This natural haven offers something for everyone, so whether you’re looking for adrenaline-induced adventure or want to enjoy the outdoors at your own pace- we’ll help you experience the best of Costa Rica!

Again, its all about location for Selina Monteverde. Walking distance from the misty Bosque Nuboso reserve, Selina Monteverde sits high up in the clouds, overlooking Santa Elena’s main town. Spanish for “green mountain,” Monteverde is home to woodland flowers, rare bird species, and some of the most picturesque forest trails in Costa Rica. Unlike other hotels in the region, our forest lodge is complete with locally curated design, a bar, comfortable cowork, a fire pit, jacuzzi, library, movie room, restaurant, and a yoga deck that boasts beautiful views and an air of serenity.
Wake up at sunrise and go animal-spotting through the forest with our expert guides, sign up for an extreme bungee jumping experience, or stay productive at our cowork area. As the sun sets, curl up by the fireplace with a drink from the hotel bar or take a dip in one of our outdoor jacuzzis. Insider Tip: it can get chilly, don’t forget to pack a sweater!
Canopying, bungee jumping, roaming the jungle or searching for animals: Monteverde is a mecca for travelers looking for unforgettable experiences. Dive into what National Geographic named “a jewel in the crown of cloud forest reserves” with these Selina experiences.
For accommodations, Selina Monteverede offers private rooms, micro rooms, dorm style rooms and suites.
Selina Jaco Beach
The party is always happening at Selina Jaco Beach. It doesn’t matter what time of day it is, there is always something going on at this location right on the beach. This is prime real estate and you cannot stay right on Jaco Beach for less money.
Designed to reflect an authentic Costa Rica experience, our location is surrounded by Miro’s Mountain, walking distance from the town’s main street, close to other hotels, and a whole host of natural attractions. Features include a swimming pool, communal kitchen, restaurant, bar, and a movie room.
Enjoy surf lessons from Selina instructors right on the beach. If you’ve ever wanted to learn, this is the time and the place. What could be more convenient? Take some lessons dude!
If surfing is not your thing, no worries at all. Enjoy your time by the gigantic pool all day and sip on some cocktails from the bar. Or join a game of pick-up volleyball, the choice is yours.
If work has you down, stay productive on the road at our comfortable cowork space. Later that night, head to the tiki restaurant for dinner and drinks, and dance the night away at a barefoot silent rave in the sand!
One of the most unique accommodations in all of Costa Rica is the cylinder concrete huts at Selina Jaco. These aesthetically pleasing huts offer a queen size bed, air conditioning and a place to store your things. Not to mention, a new perspective on an overnight stay.
Other accommodation at Selina Jaco include private rooms, micro rooms, dorm style rooms and suites.
In no way did Selina pay me to write this blog or review their hostels. This is based on my own observations and experience staying at all three of these hostels during my time in Costa Rica.
Overall, Selina offers a unique place to stay at a great value. I highly recommend booking a Selina Hostel. I know I will be using them in the future!
