Naturally when I finally get my hands on a Mavic Mini 2 of my own, a newer and much better version comes out. It happens every time! I fought this battle with GoPro for 10 years until I stopped caring and only decided to upgrade for major updates.
Is this a major upgrade for the mini series?
Time will tell but things look promising. As drone technology seems to be multiplying quickly, we find ourselves living in a unique period of time. However, the more consumer drones being mass produced at low prices, brings unwanted attention.
When I first bought my Mavic Pro, the original, in 2017, there weren’t many of us flying. Fast forward five years later and everybody and their brother has a drone. I would have prefered to have kept a low profile and be one of the only people to own a drone but times have changed. Flying and rules in general are much more strict and this is for good reason. Pilots are not using common sense or pushing the boundaries and putting themselves in a bad spot. The more people push boundries and fly where they are not supposed to, the more rules that will be put in place.
Please respect the hobby, fly in accordance with local, federal and state laws. Keep the dream of flying consumer drones alive!
Anyways, without further ado, check out the latest photos below from @DealsDrone!
The camera on the DJI Mini 3 Pro features an f/1.7 aperture for improved low-light performance.
Looking at the sensors, the DJI Mini 3 Pro seems to be able to shoot in landscape and portrait mode, so sharing to social media should be a breeze.
You can see that the design is very different compared to the current DJI Mini 2.
As you can see below, the two huge front sensors are most liking due to the new obstacle avoidance feature.
I would have to think that this Mini is going to be slightly larger than the last mini. Which brings me to an extremely important question.
Does it still weigh under 249g?
On the back of the drone you can see a USB type C and a micro SD slot.
At the bottom of the DJI Mini 3 Pro we see obstacle avoidance sensors as well that will help with avoiding collisions.
The DJI Mini 3 Pro rests on four little feet on the body of the aircraft. No more feet at the end of the front legs as we saw with the DJI Mini 2 drone. See the Mini 2 legs below.
I like the fact that the mini has legs in the front, because it makes it easier and more safe to talk off in terrain such as sand, gravel, or rocks.
Let me know what you think of the DJI Mini 3 leaked photos and new features in the comments below!
