La Sagrada Família is the single most visited monument in Barcelona, with more than three million visitors a year, and the most important work of the Catalan modernist movement by famous architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926). This massive church was his final project, and like many of his works, it blends several architectural styles, most notably Gothic and Art Nouveau. Even though construction began in 1882, the work is still ongoing, with a constantly moving end-date for completion (currently 2026).
I recommend grabbing Skip the Line tickets and a small private tour to learn more about the church’s history and varied architectural elements.
The best time to go to La Sagrada Familia is between 10:00am and 11am if you want to see “the light show” through the stained glass windows. Alternatively you can visit between 4pm-5pm.

Marvel at Gaudí´s work and admire the impressive views of the city from one of the towers of the basilica. You can take a lift to the top but the walk down is a little steep and claustrophobic. See the picture below for reference of the tower stairs.

The Sagrada Familia is very popular and tickets sell out weeks in advance. If there is one thing that you need to book ahead of schedule, it is La Sagrada Familia.
Tickets are not sold on site, but you can go to the church and scan a QR code to try and secure tickets last minute but its very rare they are available.
